Arrive in Seattle

As my flight on Air Alaska headed west everything seemed like a typical flight. Then as we reached the northwest section of Washington - I looked out the window and saw rugged snow capped mountains. These mountains seemed more extreme than the Rocky Mountain I view while crossing Colorado - I realized things were about to get real.

Once I arrived at SeaTac airport, I checked into my hotel then took an Uber to pick up my bike. It was good to see my bike again. As I rode the bike back to the hotel, the bike felt light and smooth. I quickly realized that soon the bike would have 40-50 pounds of equipment and water added to.

Next I was riding the Link Line train to downtown Seattle to spend the afternoon with my daughter Jackie and granddaughter Josephine. The train system was really nice - the best I have ever experienced in a large city. The monorail train then dropped me off right at the Space Needle - the area looked spectacular. Everything was clean and looked like an amusement park with multiple sites to view.

Things are about to get real. Tomorrow I will take my bike to the Space Needle while riding the train. I’m sure people will look at my bike loaded up with bags and think - what is that guy doing?
