John Wayne -- you're too tough!

Day 2 -

John Wayne almost killed me today. We rode the John Wayne Trail for 80 miles today. The John Wayne trail may be better for horses than bicycles - it was very challenging. We spent at least an hour riding in very soft sand at about 5-7 mph. There was also many rocky roads ( not Rocky Road ice cream) several times we had to get off and push our bikes. Today was a great history lesson of what it must have been like for our earlier ancestors that traveled west. We were totally off the grid today - all day. Never seeing cars or towns until we reached Othello, Washington. Everyone time I see a John Wayne movie I will think about today / the day John Wayne almost killed me.
