Leaving Wyoming

Day 13 - 120 miles from Buffalo to Upton, Wyoming. I should be in South Dakota for lunch Saturday. Friday was just a riding day. I left Buffalo at 5:00 AM hoping there would be no headwinds. There were no headwinds, but within 20 minutes it was raining. The ride from Buffalo to Gillette was 70 miles - with no towns in between. Glad to get that stretch complete. In Gillette I went to Subway for lunch and found that I had a fan who was following me on trackleaders. The guy knew my name and said he was waiting for me to arrive in Gillette. He had met the previous riders that had come through. He gave me some advice and I was on my way to the next town. It was nice to know that someone was following my progress and stopped by to encourage me. I planned to make it an easy day and stop in Moorcroft. There were no motels in Moorcroft - so I needed to ride an additional 20 miles to Upton, giving me 120 miles for the day. Glad I rode the extra miles because the motel in Upton was brand new. Very nice motel and only $80.
