Cycling from Seattle to Washington DC
Day 5 - St. Regis, Montana- today was a mountain climbing day. Miles were pretty slow but beautiful. I met a couple from Utah that was touring and joined them for awhile. They are school teachers and bike tour all summer each year. It was nice to hear their stories. Then I met back up with Cody and Luke. We wanted to stop early and get some rest. Starting tomorrow the tracking device will place me in the non-racing / sport division. The leader is reporting that some of the roads on the course in Montana are unridable - they must be really bad because we have been riding on very difficult roads. I will continue riding near the course, but will try to avoid the roads that are in terrible condition. I want to make that I’m safe. I may be a little crazy, but my gut tells me this is what I need to do.
