Cycling from Seattle to Washington DC
Day 10 - Started today’s ride late due to overnight snowstorm. Still got in 120 miles. Today I rode with a new rider Darryl. We called ourselves “Team 131”. You know you’re getting old when you combine our two ages and it totals 131. Darryl’s 67 years old and cycled across the country several times- and is still very very strong on the bike. We rode along the Yellowstone River and talked about the TV show - Yellowstone. We were sure that we were going to find John Dutton’s “Train Station” somewhere off the trail today. We stumbled upon a very cool Montana Bar - you had to see this place - very cool. Even though we looked totally out of place wearing biking clothes, they treated us well. The bartenders let us bring our bikes inside the bar. We keep good power all day finishing 120 miles with NP of 178. We continued riding until 8:45 when we reached Billings. Hope to reach Wyoming tomorrow. Hope for warmer weather as we have spent the last two days riding in 40 degree temperatures with rain. Soon we will be in Nebraska where it will be hot and humid - then we will miss the cool weather. It was stressful the last couple days trying to beat the snowstorm.
